The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon is seeking an FOI Officer (part-time 0.5 FTE) to support its statutory FOI duties. Working with colleagues and external bodies, you will process requests, communicate with applicants, and ensure timely, confidential responses.

The role reports to the Data Protection & FOI Manager, with permanent contract and 2.5 days per week; prior FOI experience essential; strong attention to detail and written/spoken communication required.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in FOI and understanding of FOIA exemptions.
  • Prior FOI training is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong record keeping and deadline-driven.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with FOI decision-makers and stakeholders to ensure procedures.
  • Conduct internal research to locate FOI records.
  • Assist decisions on disclosure or withholding information.
  • Apply exemptions as appropriate.
  • Maintain FOI Publication Scheme and Disclosures Log.
  • Track matters relevant to FOI and manage documentation.
  • Assist with FOI internal reviews and prepare correspondence.
  • Report on KPIs and assist in training staff.
