Job Description

Fire Safety Services Ltd is seeking a reliable and motivated Fire Equipment Maintenance Fitter / General Operative to join our growing team in Drogheda, Co. Louth. The successful candidate will assist with the servicing, inspection and installation of fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, hose reels and hydrants. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is practical, reliable and willing to learn. Previous experience in maintenance, construction, carpentry, warehouse work or stock control is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided. The role will involve working both in our premises and at customer sites across Ireland.

  • Servicing and inspecting fire extinguishers
  • Inspecting hose reels and hydrants

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist qualified technicians with the servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers.

  • Follow all company health and safety procedures.

  • Complete company training and develop knowledge of fire safety equipment and procedures.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the role.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in construction, carpentry, maintenance, warehouse work, stock control or a similar practical role is desirable.
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training.
  • No previous fire safety experience is essential as full training will be provided.
Working Environment

The role will involve a combination of warehouse-based work and attending customer sites. The successful candidate will receive training in fire safety equipment, inspection procedures and company working practices, with opportunities to develop their skills and progress within the fire protection industry.
