Job summary

Writech Industrial Services Ltd is a leading provider of fire protection systems, with projects across Ireland and Europe. You will join a team installing sprinkler systems, pipework and fittings, in a role that supports continuous site operations.

Based at client sites, you will work under experienced Forepersons, with a pay scale including travel allowance in a company vehicle. Overtime and weekend work are required at times.

Qualifications

  • Experience on construction sites.
  • Safe Pass Card & Manual Handling cert.
  • Comfort with heights and confined spaces.
  • Willingness for overtime and site travel.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install fire protection sprinkler systems and pipework.
  • Work under Installation Forepersons and collaborate in teams.
  • Attend health & safety training as required.
  • Report health, safety and wellbeing incidents promptly.
  • Complete tasks within set timeframes.
  • Adhere to company, client and site policies.
  • Take on ad hoc tasks as directed by management.

Job description

Writech are an internationally recognised leader in Fire Protection Systems. We are internationally approved to Design, Manufacture, Install, Service & Commission to all standards & have Award Winning expertise in Fire Sprinkler Protection, Foam enhanced Fire Protection, Gas Protection, Firewater Mist Protection, Insert Gas Protection & Special Hazard Fire Protection.

THE ROLE

Our head office is based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and our Installation teams attend sites across Ireland and Europe. You will work on sites with an experienced Foreperson and crew to carry out mechanical installation tasks – installing pipework, fittings etc. There is a pay scale in place for this position which includes payment for travel to and from work in a Company Vehicle.

Reporting to: Site Supervisor

Days: Monday – Friday (Overtime and Saturday work required)

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Excellent safety practices in a construction environment
  • Previous experience on construction sites
  • Safe Pass Card & Manual Handling Certificate (Theory & Practical Assessment) issued by QQI Qualified Trainer
  • Must be comfortable working at heights and confined spaces.
  • Must be flexible and available for overtime and stay aways depending on site location.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven record ofbuilding and sustaining effective and professional working relationships
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage challenging workload
  • Flexible, adaptable, problem solving and can‑do attitude to work
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and reliability skills
  • Positive, ambitious and enthusiastic with the ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
  • Full Drivers Licence for a minimum of 12months
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP)
  • Abrasive Wheel Training
  • CSCS Slinger and Signaller (Banksman)
  • CSCS Telescopic Handler Operation (Teleporter)
  • CSCS Mobile Scaffold Access Tower
  • Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble and install Fire Protection Sprinkler systems, pipework and fittings as per Company’s standard operating procedures and in-house training
  • Work as part of a team under the supervision of Installation Forepersons
  • Be open to learning and continual improvement
  • Attend industry and health & safety training courses as required
  • Responsible for reporting any Health, Safety & Wellbeing related incidents to responsible persons
  • Complete assigned assembly and installation tasks within given timeframes
  • Adherence to Company, Client, Site specific policies and procedures
  • Ad hoc tasks as requested by Management.
