Job summary

Walls Construction is seeking a Finishing Supervisor to oversee finishing activities across the site, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to programme milestones. You will supervise finishing teams and manage subcontractor performance to deliver defect-free handovers meeting client expectations.

The role requires strong knowledge of plastering, joinery, painting and tiling, with a focus on QA, snagging and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising finishing trades on construction projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of finishing materials and workmanship standards for plastering, painting, joinery and tiling.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multi-trade interfaces.
• Understanding of quality control procedures and snagging processes.
• Knowledge of health & safety legislation; CSCS or equivalent site qualification desirable.
• Organised with record-keeping and proficiency with mobile/site reporting tools and MS Office.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to liaise with clients and on-site teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet programme and quality targets.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate finishing trades, ensuring work is carried out to standard and sequence.
• Plan and programme finishing activities with site manager and subcontractors to meet milestones.
• Monitor daily quality and inspect for defects, initiating rectification.
• Mentor finishing operatives and promote best practices on site.
• Manage subcontractor performance and escalate issues to site management.
• Maintain progress records, labour, materials and daily reports; support handover documentation.
• Coordinate with site management, clients and other trades to resolve interface issues and delays.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and environmental procedures; conduct toolbox talks.
• Contribute to materials procurement and stock control for finishing activities.
• Provide input to site meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
