Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Financial Services Tax team in Dublin. You will support delivery of tax engagements for domestic and international clients and contribute to high-quality compliance and advisory work.

The role focuses on reviewing tax returns, building client relationships, and mentoring junior staff while delivering to tight deadlines. A strong technical grounding in Irish tax and a proactive, client-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified, with 2-3 years' post-qualification experience in a financial services tax environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of Irish tax with an interest in international tax; Asset Management and/or Insurance experience is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted client relationships and collaborate across teams.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with strong commercial awareness, a commitment to continuous learning, and an ambition to develop a career in professional practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of financial services clients, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
• Provide practical technical support on Irish and international tax matters, reviewing tax returns and computations while ensuring compliance with internal quality and risk procedures.
• Build strong client relationships by participating in client meetings, responding to queries, and delivering a high standard of client service.
• Support Managers and Partners in delivering client engagements, identifying opportunities for additional services, and contributing to business development initiatives.
• Mentor and support junior team members, share technical knowledge, and actively contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
