Job summary

A leading Irish residential property developer is seeking a Financial Controller via Alliedtalent. The role reports to the CFO, owning day-to-day finance operations, reporting across the group, and leading a growing finance team in a dynamic growth phase.

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with 5+ years PQE, background in residential development or real estate, and experience guiding a finance function through scale.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 5+ years PQE.
• Experience leading a finance team and delivering month-end/year-end close.
• Background in residential development, construction or real estate is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and year-end close, delivering management accounts to the CFO and Board.
• Own statutory reporting across group entities and manage the external audit.
• Oversee project-level reporting, including cost to complete, margins and cash flow forecasting.
• Manage funding drawdowns, lender reporting and tax compliance (VAT on property, RCT, corporation tax).
• Build and develop the finance team, and improve processes, controls and systems as the group scales.

Job description

On behalf of a leading Irish residential property developer, we are looking to hire a Financial Controller.

The business has a strong track record of delivering quality homes across the greater Dublin area and is entering a significant phase of growth. As part of this, the CFO is strengthening the finance function and is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to help build out the team, processes and reporting that will support the next stage of the business.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will own day-to-day finance operations and financial reporting across the group, while leading a growing finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and year-end close, delivering management accounts to the CFO and Board
• Own statutory reporting across group entities and manage the external audit
• Oversee project-level reporting, including cost to complete, margins and cash flow forecasting
• Manage funding drawdowns, lender reporting and tax compliance (VAT on property, RCT, corporation tax)

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), ideally practice trained
• 5+ years' PQE, including experience at Financial Controller or senior finance level
• Background in residential development, construction or real estate strongly preferred
• Experience leading a team and comfortable working in a growing business
• Candidates from a Big 4 background at Senior Manager or Associate Director level will also be considered
