Job summary

Ohshima Ireland Limited is seeking a highly motivated Financial Controller to lead the Finance team in our manufacturing SME. The role offers a step up into senior finance with responsibilities spanning accounts payable/receivable, payroll, VAT/PAYE, and monthly management accounts, while ensuring robust internal controls.

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with manufacturing experience, strong IT skills, and proven leadership ability to drive deadlines and improvements.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with ACCA/ACA/ACMA preferred and Manufacturing experience.
• 3-4+ years relevant experience in a commercially focused manufacturing accountant role.
• 3rd level degree in accounting/business studies or similar.
• Excellent IT skills including high level in all Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Finance department.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Control debtor/creditor functions and payroll management including outsourced payroll.
• Prepare and file VAT, PAYE and VIES returns.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with reconciliations and control accounts.
• Coordinate year-end audit file and liaise with external auditors for statutory audit.
• Liaise with advisers on Corporation Tax computations and Form 46G.
• Review SOPs and internal controls; manage Finance staff; support budgeting and cash-flow management.

Role Overview

Ohshima Ireland Limited is currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and ambitious Financial Controller to join our Finance team. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the operations and daily activities of the Finance department
• Responsibility for the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure the smooth processing of both sales invoices and supplier invoices.
• Manage the debtor/creditor control function.
• Responsibility for the accurate and timely payment of all salaries and the overall management for outsourced payroll in accordance with Revenue requirements.
• Preparation and timely submission of VAT, PAYE and VIES returns.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts to include all relevant reconciliations and control accounts.
• Oversee the management and the disbursement of Travel and Subsistence claims.
• Preparation of the year end audit file and liaising with the external auditors for the purposes of completing the annual statutory audit to include the agreement of the statutory financial statements.
• Liaise with the external advisors with regard to the review and subsequent submission of the companies Corporation Tax return, computations and form 46G.
• Review and agreement of the Abridged Financial Statements with the auditors for submission to the CRO.
• Have responsibility for reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures and internal financial controls.
• Performance manage, develop and motivate Finance staff
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time. For example assisting the Managing director/Senior Management and business principals with regard to budgets and cash-flow management
  
  

Personal profile

• Qualified Accountant - strong preference for ACCA, ACA or ACMA with Top 10 Practice or with Manufacturing experience.
• 3-4+ years relevant experience in a commercially focused manufacturing accountant position.
• 3rd level degree in accounting/business studies or similar.
