Job summary

DP World in Ireland is seeking a Financial Accounts Assistant to join our Accounting department at our Dublin site. Reporting to the EMEA Financial Accountant, you will support month-end close and audits for Irish entities.

Responsibilities include cash forecasts, variance analysis, intercompany reconciliations, treasury postings, and preparing monthly revenue and margin reports for multiple sites, with SAP/Oracle experience as a plus.

Qualifications

  • Part qualified accounting qualifications required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an operationally focused accounts assistant or credit control role.
  • Experience with SAP and Oracle is desirable (not essential).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage weekly cash forecast.
  • Month end close with variance analysis and commentary against budget/forecast.
  • Conduct analysis and report findings to senior management.
  • Liaise with operations and finance to ensure timely information.
  • Prepare gross margin reports for two sites.
  • Prepare monthly revenue analyses for four sites.
  • Manage treasury postings and daily reconciliations.
  • Ensure intercompany balances reconcile at month end.
  • Process weekly billing to SAP from CIS and Stratum.
  • Produce monthly reconciliations for main trading entity and treasury.
  • Produce quarterly reconciliations for non-trading entities.
  • Support yearly Group and Statutory Audit.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.

An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Accounting department for a Financial Accounts Assistant to join us and be based at our Dublin site. Reporting to the EMEA Financial Accountant, our successful candidate will strengthen our Finance & Controlling team across EMEA and Freight Forwarding. The candidate will play a key role in supporting month end close and support of the audit for all the Irish entities.

Hours:Full-time, (Mon-Fri)


About the Role


  • Prepare and manage the weekly cash forecast

  • Timely and accurate month end close as well as providing meaningful variance analysis of results and commentary against budget / forecast – WD4

  • Conduct various analysis on both own initiative and on request from senior management, reporting back the finding and recommendations.

  • Liaising with operations and other finance departments to ensure information is received on a timely basis

  • Preparing the gross margin analysis reports for two sites.

  • Preparing the monthly revenue analysis reports for four sites.

  • Managing Treasury postings and ensuring that everything reconciles daily

  • Managing the Treasury Loans report for Europe

  • Ensuring all intercompany balances reconcile for month end close

  • Ensuing the weekly Billing is loaded correctly to SAP from CIS and stratum

  • Producing monthly reconciliations for the main trading entity and Treasury

  • Producing quarterly reconciliations for our non-trading entities

  • Supporting the yearly Group and Statutory Audit

  • Preparation and posting of journal entries


What you will bring

Education



  • Part Qualified accountant ACA; ACCA; CIMA; or CPA


Experience



  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an operationally focused accounts assistant or Credit control role

  • Excellent communication skills and a track record in building relationships as you will be liaising with both internal and external personnel at all levels


Definite asset:



  • Experience of SAP & Oracle are desirable (not essential)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively, in order to meet reporting deadlines

  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people, with different regional backgrounds and roles

  • Flexibility and the willingness to learn and develop on the job

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools – Excel proficiency is desirable
