Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a Part-time Accountant to join a fast-growing pharmaceutical organisation. The role is 24 hours per week in a hybrid setting (1–2 days in the office) and is contracted for 7 months with potential long-term work.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will manage day-to-day accounting for multiple entities, focusing on monthly accounts, VAT compliance, and audits, with involvement in budgeting, forecasting, and cross-department support.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant – ACA or ACCA with industry experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent communicator with stakeholder relationship skills.
• Team player capable of working independently.
• GP experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable across multiple Saol entities.
• Prepare Monthly Management Accounts.
• Assist with year-end audit.
• Ensure timely VAT returns.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting.
• Provide business support across departments.
• Forecast and monitor PO activity.
• Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain and Development teams.

An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing pharmaceutical organisation who is looking for a Part-time Accountant (newly created position) to join a small finance team. The role will be 24 hours per week that is flexible on working structure, within a hybrid working environment (1-2 days in the office).

This is a contract role for 7 months (long term potential). There is an exciting pipeline of drug compounds at an advanced stage in research and potential commercialisaton.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the role involves day-to-day accounting and finance activities within a small finance team for multiple entities within the group focusing on the completion of monthly accounts, VAT compliance, audit completion and other ad hoc activities.

Responsibilities:

• Management of Accounts Payable across multiple Saol entities
• Preparation of Monthly Management accounts
• Assist with the completion of the year end audit.
• Ensure timely filing of VAT returns
• Bank reconciliations
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Business Support
• PO Forecasting and monitoring
• Partnering with internal colleagues from other departments (Quality/Supply Chain/ Development).

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant – ACA or ACCA with industry experience
• Advanced Excel skills & Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
• Excellent communicator who can deal effectively with financial and non-financial people and is focused on building and maintaining excellent working relationships across the business.
• Team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is preferred but not essential.
