Job summary

HireForce is partnering with a South Tipperary based Irish SME to recruit a Financial Accountant to join the finance team. This is a broad, hands-on role offering exposure to financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, cash flow and day-to-day finance operations.

The ideal candidate is an exam-qualified accountant with 1+ years of industry experience, strong Excel skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Exam qualified accountant required.
• 1+ years' relevant industry experience.
• Advanced Excel skills with confidence using financial systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and provide financial analysis to senior management.
• Manage month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Monitor business performance and investigate key financial variances.
• Maintain accurate financial records and strong balance sheet controls.
• Assist with VAT, statutory reporting and other compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and professional advisers.
• Oversee elements of the day-to-day finance function, including AP and AR.
• Work closely with different departments to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Support the development of accounting systems and reporting efficiencies.
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects and business improvement initiatives.
