Connexus Recruit is partnering with a major international retail organisation to appoint a Finance Systems Specialist within its European supply operation. The role sits at the intersection of finance, data and technology, helping maintain high-volume financial data integrity and supporting SAP S/4HANA transformations.

Responsibilities

• Support finance users across SAP S/4HANA and related finance systems.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify discrepancies, trends and root causes.
• Investigate issues affecting purchasing, supplier invoices and financial data flows.
• Support the continued rollout and development of SAP S/4HANA.
• Help improve purchase-to-pay processes and reduce manual invoice intervention.
• Monitor system interfaces and data quality, escalating and coordinating fixes where required.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications.
• Plan and coordinate User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements.
• Manage smaller finance systems and process-improvement projects.
• Work with finance controllers, operational teams, IT specialists and product owners across Europe.
• Maintain process documentation, system guidance and user training materials.
• Support change management and user adoption during new system implementations.
• Contribute to Intrastat reporting and other supply-related finance processes.

Finance Systems Specialist (SAP S/4HANA) | Dublin (Hybrid)

Connexus Recruit is partnering with a major international retail organisation to appoint a Finance Systems Specialist within its European supply operation.

This role sits at the intersection of finance, data and technology. You will help maintain the integrity of high-volume financial data, investigate system and process issues and support major transformation programmes across SAP S/4HANA and the wider finance systems landscape.

This is an in-house functional role rather than an SAP configuration position. It would suit someone who understands finance and purchasing processes, enjoys analysing complex data and can work effectively between finance users, operational stakeholders and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support finance users across SAP S/4HANA and related finance systems.

Experience Required

• Previous hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA in a finance, retail, supply‑chain or purchasing environment.


• Knowledge of SAP FI and MM modules.


• Strong data‑analysis skills and experience working with large datasets.


• Understanding of finance processes, ideally including purchase‑to‑pay, accounts payable, supplier invoicing or external purchasing.


• Experience investigating system issues and working with technical teams to resolve them.


• Exposure to requirements gathering, UAT, systems implementation or process improvement.


• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.


• Confidence working across international and cross‑functional teams.


• SQL querying and data investigation.


• Databricks or similar data platforms.


• Oracle E1, Workday or another major finance ERP.


• Experience within retail, FMCG, distribution, manufacturing or a shared‑services environment.


• Participation in an ERP migration or finance transformation programme.
