HRconsultants.ie has been engaged to recruit a Finance Manager for an established Irish business in the construction equipment sector. The role covers end-to-end finance, from management accounts to statutory duties, with hands-on ownership of the fixed asset register and close collaboration with senior management and the Board.

The successful candidate will lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and drive improvements across systems, processes and reporting for a growing Irish

Qualifications

  • Strong post-qualification experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar role.
  • Experience within an asset-intensive environment such as plant/equipment hire, machinery, fleet, manufacturing, construction, engineering, transport or distribution.
  • Hands-on experience completing, rebuilding or significantly improving a fixed asset register.
  • Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow experience.
  • Experience reporting to senior management, CFO or Board level.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function with a broad remit covering monthly management accounts, reporting and variance analysis.
  • Lead budgets, forecasting and cash-flow management.
  • Oversee working capital, cash, AR and AP and manage the AR/AP team.
  • Take ownership of the fixed asset register and improve asset controls.
  • Reconciling assets to the general ledger and improving asset controls.
  • Handle month-end, year-end, audit and statutory requirements.
  • Improve finance systems, processes and reporting.
  • Analyse margins, stock, pricing, costs and business performance.
  • Provide clear financial insight and recommendations to senior management.

Are you an experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller looking for a broad, hands-on role where you can have a genuine impact on a growing Irish business?

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager on behalf of an established Irish business operating within the construction equipment sector. The company provides equipment sales, rental, servicing, spare parts and after-sales support to customers nationwide.

This is a key role within the business, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function while working closely with senior management and the Board.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, with a broad remit covering:

  • Monthly management accounts, reporting and variance analysis
  • Budgets, forecasting and cash-flow management
  • Working capital, cash, AR and AP
  • Leading and supporting the existing AR and AP team
  • Taking hands-on ownership of the fixed asset register
  • Reconciling assets to the general ledger and improving asset controls
  • Month-end, year-end, audit and statutory requirements
  • Improving finance systems, processes and reporting
  • Analysing margins, stock, pricing, costs and business performance
  • Providing clear financial insight and recommendations to senior management
What We're Looking For
  • Strong post-qualification experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar role
  • Experience within an asset-intensive environment, such as plant/equipment hire, machinery, fleet, manufacturing, construction, engineering, transport or distribution
  • Hands-on experience completing, rebuilding or significantly improving a fixed asset register
  • Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow experience
  • Experience reporting to senior management, CFO or Board level
  • A practical, hands-on leadership style with strong commercial awareness

Experience with stock, rental fleets, capital expenditure or asset lifecycle reporting would be advantageous.
