Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is recruiting a qualified Finance Manager for a client in the FMCG manufacturing sector, based in Dublin 12. This permanent position offers hybrid working.

Combining management accounting, financial reporting and operational finance business partnering, you will own the monthly management reporting cycle and ensure accurate financial information reaches the board, sponsor and lenders.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with CIMA, ACCA or ACA designation.
• Minimum five years’ finance experience, preferably in FMCG.
• Experience in management accounting or FP&A within FMCG.
• Strong reporting and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience using an integrated ERP system; IFS experience is desirable.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and lead a small team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain performance to non-finance colleagues.
• Sound judgement and practical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly management accounts and board reporting including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPI reporting.
• Prepare commentary and variance analysis against budget and prior year; work with Commercial Finance on EBITDA bridges.
• Lead month-end close, post journals and reconciliations.
• Provide financial information for sponsor queries, lender reporting and covenant compliance.
• Lead annual budget and strategic planning; track value creation vs investment case.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations including trade spend, rebates, and prepayments.
• Review standard costing updates; partner with ops and procurement on cost/performance.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and monitor spend against budgets.
• Track working capital and provide actionable insights.
• Supervise and develop two financial accountants.
• Support annual insurance renewal and ad hoc analysis/projects.

Job description

We are recruiting a qualified Finance Manager for a client in the FMCG manufacturing sector, based in Dublin 12. This permanent position offers hybrid working.

Combining management accounting, financial reporting and operational finance business partnering, you will own the monthly management reporting cycle and ensure accurate financial information reaches the board, sponsor and lenders.

Working closely with manufacturing operations, procurement and commercial finance, you will lead budgeting and planning, support covenant compliance and manage two financial accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly management accounts and board reporting pack, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, net debt and KPI reporting.
• Prepare clear commentary and variance analysis against budget and prior year, working with Commercial Finance on EBITDA bridges covering volume, price, mix, cost and foreign exchange.
• Take a hands-on role in month-end close, including posting journals and completing monthly reconciliations.
• Prepare financial information for sponsor queries, lender reporting and credit insurers, supporting covenant compliance.
• Lead the annual budget and strategic planning process, tracking value creation initiatives against the investment case.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team, including trade spend, rebate accruals and prepayments.
• Review standard costing updates and partner with manufacturing operations and procurement on cost and performance analysis.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and monitor spend against approved budgets.
• Track working capital performance, investigate material variances and provide actionable insights.
• Supervise and develop two financial accountants, reviewing their work and setting clear priorities.
• Support the annual insurance renewal and contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and projects.

Skills and experience

• Qualified accountant: CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
• At least five years’ relevant finance experience, ideally within FMCG.
• Experience in management accounting or financial planning and analysis (FP&A) within an FMCG environment.
• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience using an integrated ERP system. IFS experience is desirable.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and provide clear direction to team members.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain financial performance to non-finance colleagues.
• Sound judgement and a practical approach to decision-making.
