Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment in Roscommon is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the Senior Management team. The role combines day-to-day financial ownership with input into the short- and long-term direction of the business, leading the finance function and strengthening controls.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ experience in financial management or Financial Controller roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls.
• Previous people-management experience.
• Excellent communication with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall financial management and reporting of the business.
• Manage monthly and annual financial statements across ROI and NI operations.
• Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Oversee VAT returns and ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained.
• Manage financial processes relating to vehicle purchases, leasing and buybacks.
• Oversee accurate and timely weekly payroll across ROI and NI.
• Lead and develop an accounting team of five.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen accounting policies and internal controls.
• Contribute financial insight to business planning and strategy as Financial Controller.
