Job summary

FK International, a leading Irish manufacturing business in Kildare outskirts of Dublin, seeks a Finance Director to lead the finance function and provide strategic financial leadership to support growth and risk management.

You will oversee monthly management accounts, forecasting, budgeting and scenario modelling, while partnering with the SLT on key commercial negotiations and project accounting. A qualified finance professional with 7+ years PQE is required.

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 7 years' PQE.
  • Strong understanding of stock and WIP, ideally in manufacturing or construction.
  • Proven financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
  • Experience in project accounting, WIP and working capital management.

  • Provide strategic financial leadership to support growth, profitability, risk management and long-term planning.

Position Description

A leading Irish manufacturing business is seeking to appoint a highly capable and commercially focused Finance Director to lead its finance function. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Finance Director will play an important role in shaping the strategic and commercial direction of the business, providing financial leadership to support sustainable growth, profitability and effective risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership to support growth, profitability, risk management and long-term business planning.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts and performance packs, providing clear analysis of financial and operational performance.
  • Provide the SLT with commercially focused financial insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and scenario-modelling processes.
  • Partner with the wider business on contract and commercial reviews, including supporting key commercial negotiations.
  • Oversee project WIP analysis, monitoring and reporting, ensuring strong financial control and visibility across projects.
  • Manage treasury, cash flow and working capital, including responsibility for key banking and funding relationships.
  • Maintain a strong framework for financial controls, risk management and governance.
  • Drive process improvement and systems enhancements to improve the quality, efficiency and scalability of the finance function.
  • Lead, develop and grow a small finance team, building capability in line with the continued development of the business.
Candidate Background
  • A professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 7 years' PQE and strong technical accounting skills.
  • Relevant experience with a good understanding of stock and WIP, possibly coming from manufacturing or construction background.
  • Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
  • A good understanding of project accounting, WIP and working capital management.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, with the ability to operate as a trusted business partner to senior leadership.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
