Job summary

FuturEnergy Ireland is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to provide hands-on finance partnering across development, delivery and senior management teams. The role suits a newly qualified accountant with 1–2 years PQE, capable of challenging budgets, forecasts and cost drivers while maintaining strong financial controls in capital-intensive renewable projects across Ireland.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with 1–2 years PQE.
• Experience in a finance business partnering or commercially focused finance role.
• Background in a capital-intensive environment, such as infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction or property development.
• Strong experience in monthly reporting and management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis and commercial challenge.
• Confident engaging with and constructively challenging non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong technical finance capability with good tax awareness.

Responsibilities

• Act as the finance business partner to project managers, development teams and senior stakeholders.
• Provide robust commercial challenge on budgets, forecasts, cost profiles and business cases.
• Support investment and project decisions through financial insight, scenario analysis and risk assessment.
• Work closely with non-finance teams, challenging assumptions, timelines and cost drivers.
• Support and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and clear commentary.
• Support year-end financial statement preparation and audit processes.
• Maintain strong financial controls, governance and cost discipline across projects and entities.
• Assist with cashflow forecasting, cost tracking and performance monitoring.
