FuturEnergy Ireland is seeking aSenior Financial Accountant reporting to Finance Business Partner
to support a growing portfolio of large‑scale renewable and infrastructure projects. This is a hands‑on, end‑to‑end role that combines strong financial control with commercial insight and real business partnering across development, delivery and senior management teams.
The role suits a newly qualified accountant (1–2 years PQE) with experience in capital‑intensive, project‑based environments, who is comfortable operating close to the business, challenging assumptions, and influencing decision‑making.
Role/Responsibilities
Business Partnering & Commercial Insight
- Act as the finance business partner to project managers, development teams and senior stakeholders.
- Provide robust commercial challenge on budgets, forecasts, cost profiles and business cases.
- Support investment and project decisions through financial insight, scenario analysis and risk assessment.
- Work closely with non‑finance teams, challenging assumptions, timelines and cost drivers.
- Support and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and clear commentary.
- Support year‑end financial statement preparation and audit processes.
- Maintain strong financial controls, governance and cost discipline across projects and entities.
- Assist with cashflow forecasting, cost tracking and performance monitoring.
Technical Finance & Tax
- Apply a sound understanding of accounting and tax principles relevant to project‑based and development entities.
- Support tax compliance and commercial structuring alongside internal and external advisers.
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment across development‑stage and operational entities.
Wider Finance Contribution
- Contribute to the ongoing development and scaling of finance processes.
- Work cross‑functionally with corporate finance, commercial and technical teams.
- Support continuous improvement across reporting, planning and decision support.

Desired Technical/Professional Competencies:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with 1–2 years PQE.
- Experience in a finance business partnering or commercially focused finance role.
- Background in a capital‑intensive environment, such as infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction or property development.
- Strong experience in:
- monthly reporting and management accounts,
- budgeting and forecasting,
- financial analysis and commercial challenge.
- Confident engaging with and constructively challenging non‑finance stakeholders.
- Strong technical finance capability with good tax awareness.
Desirable (But not essential)
- Exposure to renewable energy or regulated infrastructure.
- Experience with project‑based or multi‑entity structures.
- Experience working in a fast‑growing or evolving organisation.
