Job summary

IAS Laboratories is seeking a dedicated Field Technician to support environmental monitoring across multiple field locations in Ireland. You will perform routine on-site sampling of groundwater, surface water, leachate, and drinking water, and compile detailed reports for regulatory bodies.

The role requires a Level 8 degree in a relevant field or Level 6 with experience; training is provided. You will work outdoors, liaise with clients, maintain field equipment, and ensure safety protocols are

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science or related field (Level 8) or Level 6 with experience.
• Training provided on sampling techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental sampling of groundwater, surface water, leachate, and drinking water.
• Perform Q-value assessments (Biological) on surface waters, effluent, sludge, grass, and soil.
• Liaise professionally with clients and represent IAS Laboratories positively in the field.
• Maintain and calibrate field equipment, vehicles, and PPE to the highest standards.
• Compile detailed, high-quality reports for submission to governing agencies such as the EPA.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and incident reporting.
• Manage personal schedules efficiently and suggest improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
