Location: Field based, but must be based in Ireland, ideally within commuting distance of Dublin.
Are you a Field Service Engineer who sees more than the fault in front of you?
My client is looking for an experienced Field Service Engineerwho can combine excellent hands-on engineering skills with the ability to understand the bigger picture for the customer.
At its heart, this is a field service role. You’ll install, commission, service and troubleshoot specialist food-processing equipment across Ireland, as well as providing technical support and customer training.
But because you’ll spend significant time embedded in customer sites and working directly with their equipment, you’ll also be in a great position to understand how their machinery is performing, build trusted relationships and spot opportunities for upgrades, replacement equipment and additional solutions.
The key is credibility. You need to be equally comfortable working on the machinery and talking to customers about how they could improve performance, efficiency, yield and ROI. This isn’t about hard selling. It’s about using your technical expertise and understanding of the customer’s operation to recognise where an additional investment could genuinely benefit their business, and then helping to develop that opportunity.
You’ll need:
Previous sales experience would be useful, but it isn’t essential. What matters is that you’re technically credible, naturally good with customers and able to recognise when there’s an opportunity to solve a wider problem.
The remuneration package reflects both the technical and commercial elements of the role and includes a commission-related bonus scheme.
If you’re a strong Field Service Engineer who enjoys fixing problems, getting to know customers and spotting opportunities to help them get more from their equipment, I’d like to hear from you.
