Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Field Service Engineer 2 (Non Exempt) to lead installation, calibration, and initial commissioning of advanced semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will troubleshoot, support system integration, and ensure customer satisfaction during deployment, working under the Ramp Manager.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in field service, installation, or technical support.
• BS in electronics, mechanical, or related discipline, or equivalent military/technical experience.
• Hands-on experience with electro/mechanical systems, software integration, and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute installation and configuration of complex electro/mechanical equipment at customer sites.
• Support ramp activities by performing installations under standard and escalated conditions.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation and startup.
• Collaborate with Ramp Manager and field teams to meet installation schedules.
• Ensure installations meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
• Document installation activities, issues, and resolutions in company processes.
• Provide feedback to engineering and product teams to improve procedures.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory required for installation.
• Interact with customers professionally and clearly during installation.
