Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Field Process Engineer to provide on-site process support and optimization for customers in Europe and the Middle East. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to install, qualify, and improve Lam equipment, utilizing DOE and ALD expertise to drive productivity and reliability.

The role is based on-site in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland, with occasional travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with relevant experience in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science.
• Experience with ALD and dielectric deposition processes.
• Strong data analysis and DOE/SPC skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide process support and installation at customer sites.
• Conduct DOE evaluations to characterize process windows for new installations.
• Design experiments, collect data, analyze results, and report recommendations.
• Develop new processes for small variants and perform tool qualifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to meet requirements.

The group you’ll be a part ofThe Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.The impact you’ll makeAt Lam, as a Field Process Engineer you are a customer-focused expert on our equipment, pushing the boundaries to meet customer needs. You’re responsible for completing process support, evaluation, and documentation of process outputs for hardware modifications and upgrades. You play a vital role in supporting the customer in installations, training, and identifying design improvements with Lam’s product groups. In this role, you will directly contribute to the success of our customers in Europe and Middle-East region.This is a full time position, on-site in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.What you’ll doProvide process support, installation, resolve and improve process/system/productivity, and develop processes of new applications of Lam equipment at customer sitesComplete Design of Experiments (DOE) evaluations to characterize process window for new installations or recommended field hardware modificationsDesign and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze results, generate reports, and provide recommendationsDevelop new processes for small variants to existing customer applicationsPerforming equipment process qualificationsUtilize AI capabilities for improved equipment productivityPerforms application related Project Management, including planning, defining problems and objectives, developing an approach, and providing recommendationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to understand their needs, technology roadmaps, process flow, requirements, and business challengesRepresent Lam to our valued customers and deliver exceptional customer satisfactionPresent technical and marketing materials with a win-win mindset to keep customers informed about products and services to address their needsProvide technical instruction and mentoring for more junior engineersWho we’re looking forMinimum Qualifications:PhD; or Master of Science with 3+ years of relevant work experience; or Bachelor of Science with 5+ years of work experience in Chemistry, Physics, or Material Science, or related fieldHighly experienced in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and Dielectrics Deposition processesProficiency in computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation softwareExcellent communication, written and verbal, and customer relationship skillsAbility to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing personal protective safety equipment, cleanroom suit, and on-call if neededPreferred qualificationsIn-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)Foundational analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skillsExperience in Continues improvement projects activities, e.g. defect reductionExperience with Equipment Intelligence capabilitiesOur commitmentWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
