Job summary

Lam Research in Ireland seeks a Field Process Engineer 3 to support ALD and Dielectrics deposition processes for European customers. This on-site role at Leixlip, Co. Kildare, combines hands-on process support with DOE-driven optimization and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work with customers to install, train, and improve equipment, providing data-driven recommendations while contributing to Lam’s European field operations. A PhD or MS/BS with relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• PhD; or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience; or BS with 5+ years in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science.
• Deep experience with Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and Dielectrics deposition processes.
• Strong data analysis, documentation, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide process support, installation, and improvements of Lam equipment at customer sites.
• Complete DOE evaluations to characterize process windows for installations.
• Design experiments, collect/analyze data, generate reports, and make recommendations.
• Develop new processes for variants of existing customer applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to meet tech roadmaps.

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customersupport throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, andquality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutionsfor their most critical equipment and processes.

The impact you’ll make

At Lam, as a Field Process Engineer you are a customer-focused expert on our equipment, pushing the boundaries to meet customer needs. You’re responsible for completing process support, evaluation, and documentation of process outputs for hardware modifications and upgrades. You play a vital role in supporting the customer in installations, training, and identifying design improvements with Lam’s product groups.In this role, you will directly contribute to the success of our customers in Europe and Middle-East region.

This is a full time position, on-site in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.

What you’ll do

• Provide process support, installation, resolve and improve process/system/productivity, and develop processes of new applications of Lam equipment at customer sites
• Complete Design of Experiments (DOE) evaluations to characterize process window for new installations or recommended field hardware modifications
• Design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze results, generate reports, and provide recommendations
• Develop new processes for small variants to existing customer applications
• Utilize AI capabilities for improved equipment productivity
• Performs application related Project Management, including planning, defining problems and objectives, developing an approach, and providing recommendations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to understand their needs, technology roadmaps, process flow, requirements, and business challenges
• Represent Lam to our valued customers and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction
• Present technical and marketing materials with a win-win mindset to keep customers informed about products and services to address their needs
• Provide technical instruction and mentoring for more junior engineers

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD; or Master of Science with 3+ years of relevant work experience; or Bachelor of Science with 5+ years of work experience in Chemistry, Physics, or Material Science, or related field
• Highly experienced in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and Dielectrics Deposition processes
• Proficiency in computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
• Excellent communication, written and verbal, and customer relationship skills
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing personal protective safety equipment, cleanroom suit, and on-call if needed

Preferred qualifications

• In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)
• Foundational analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Experience in Continues improvement projects activities, e.g. defect reduction
• Experience with Equipment Intelligence capabilities
