Job summary

Circet Ireland is hiring a Fibre Engineer in Dublin/Leinster area. You will be responsible for the installation, testing, splicing, maintenance and repair of fibre optic networks across a range of telecommunications projects.

As part of a field-based team, you will ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards, with opportunities for training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience as Fibre Engineer or Telecommunications Engineer.
• Proven experience in fibre splicing, termination and testing.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Safe Pass certification; Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice and terminate fibre optic cables within underground and overhead network infrastructure.
• Carry out fibre testing using OTDR, power meters and other specialist equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify faults within fibre optic networks.
• Complete network commissioning and acceptance testing activities.
• Install and maintain fibre connections for residential, business and network infrastructure projects.
• Produce accurate test results, as-built documentation and work records.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with client specifications, company procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and testing equipment in good working order.
• Liaise effectively with supervisors, clients, local authorities and other operational teams.
• Adhere to all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements at all times.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience working as a Fibre Engineer, Fibre Splicer or Telecommunications Engineer.
• Proven experience in fibre splicing, termination and testing.
• Competent in the use of OTDRs and fibre testing equipment.
• Knowledge of fibre network infrastructure and telecommunications installation practices.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible approach to travel and working hours where required.
• Experience working on Open Eir, SIRO or similar fibre networks.
• Safe Pass certification.
• Manual Handling certification.
• First Aid qualification (desirable)
• Experience reading network schematics and fibre routing plans.
