At ESB Networks, our Telecoms Group of over 100 professionals provides the essential operational networks that power the communication systems controlling Ireland’s electricity distribution, transmission, and generation infrastructure.
We operate and manage Ireland’s largest private telecommunications network, positioning ESB Networks among Europe’s leading utilities developing private mobile networks for operational use. These initiatives are central to our journey toward Smart Networks and the digitisation of ESB.
Within Networks Telecoms, the WAN Program Delivery Team leads the delivery and service ownership of advanced telecom technologies including DWDM and PDH/SDH migrating to MPLS-TP, fibre, Microwave Radio, SCADA UHF polling radio, Satellite‑based SCADA, Operational IP, and the development of a future LTE network.
This team plays a pivotal role in building the resilient, high-performance communication infrastructure that underpins ESB’s transition to a smarter, more connected energy system.
