Job summary

Excel Recruitment is recruiting a Fashion Department Manager for Newbridge, Co. Kildare. The role leads a busy fashion department, coaching a large team and delivering top customer service, merchandising and day-to-day operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will drive sales, manage rotas, monitor KPIs and ensure high standards across fashion and home categories, inspiring teams to exceed targets and maintain excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' retail management experience in fashion or high-volume environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious, commercially driven retail managers with a strong background in fashion to join a successful, high-volume retail business renowned for its fast-paced environment and strong retail standards.

As Fashion Department Manager, you will take ownership of a busy fashion department, leading and developing a large team while driving sales, maximising commercial opportunities and delivering exceptional standards in customer service, visual merchandising and day-to-day operations.

We are looking for passionate fashion retail leaders who thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a keen eye for trends and merchandising, and can inspire their teams to deliver outstanding results.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and develop a large team, creating a positive and high-performing culture


• Drive department sales, profitability, and KPIs through strong commercial awareness and effective leadership


• Deliver exceptional visual merchandising, product presentation, and department standards across fashion and home


• Coach and develop Team Leaders and Sales Advisors to maximise performance and engagement


• Analyse sales trends, identify commercial opportunities, and take action to maximise results


• Ensure excellent customer service and a consistently positive shopping experience


• Manage recruitment, onboarding, rotas, performance, and colleague development


• Maintain high operational standards, including compliance and health & safety

About you:

• Minimum 3 years' retail management experience, ideally within fashion, home, or a high-volume department store environment


• Proven experience leading and developing large retail teams


• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering sales and KPIs


• A genuine passion for fashion, home interiors, visual merchandising, and customer experience


• Confident managing people, performance, and operational priorities in a fast-paced environment


• Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills


• A hands-on, energetic management style with the ability to inspire and motivate others
