Job summary

Vhi Health & Wellbeing DAC is seeking a full-time Facilities Technician to support management of health sites in Dublin, based in Carrickmines. The role centers on maintenance, safety compliance, and coordinating third-party contractors to ensure safe, compliant operations.

You will perform routine checks, assist with room setups, review contractor quotations, and help maintain systems such as fire alarms, generators, and BMS.

Qualifications

• Experience providing facilities support in a medical setting.
• City and Guilds in Electrical services.
• Familiar with Building Management Systems, fire alarms, AV, HVAC.
• Experience reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements for 3rd party contractors.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day operation and maintenance of the facility to ensure a safe, compliant environment.
• Carry out routine building and compliance checks including fire alarms and emergency systems.
• Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors, ensuring work is safe and up to standard.
• Provide facilities support services including room set-up, portering, key management and on-call rota.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing repairs, and equipment installation.
• Review contractor quotations and engineering works to ensure value and quality.

Job description

Vhi Health & Wellbeing DAC have a full time permanent vacancy for the role of Facilities Technician. The successful candidate will support the facilities management for the Health & Wellbeing sites and requires a highly organised and adaptable individual to oversee maintenance, facilities projects, and health and safety compliance across Vhi sites in Dublin. Based in Carrickmines, the successful candidate will ensure contractors operate safely and all works meet business and regulatory standards.

The role will incorporate escorting 3rd party contractors and carrying out maintenance tasks as well as supporting the site in its day-to-day operational requirements.

The role is focussed in Carrickmines and will involve visiting and overseeing activities and projects in Vhi sites in Dublin, ensuring compliance with standards and business needs.

What will you do:

Facilities support

• Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the facility to ensure a safe, compliant and high-performing environment.
• Carry out routine building and compliance checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, nurse call systems, generators, BMS monitoring, lift emergency systems and utility meter readings.
• Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors, ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required standard.
• Provide facilities support services including room set-up, portering, key management, incident response and participation in the on-call rota.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as painting, decorating, plumbing repairs, equipment installation and locker management.
• Support the review of contractor quotations and engineering works to ensure value, quality and alignment with business needs.

Quality & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and facilities management policies and procedures.
• Verify that contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements are in place and adhered to at all times.

Finance

• Review Third party quotes for engineering services in Carrickmines to ensure works are consistent with requirement

What will you need to be successful:

• Essential Facilities Support experience in a medical environment would be preferable City and Guilds in Electrical services
• Experience in modern buildings with Building management systems , Fire alarms, AV, HVAC
• Experience in Healthcare settings, hospitals/clinics etc.
• Experience in Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements for 3rd Party contractors

Desirable

• Painting and Decorating skills
• HVAC Accreditation
• Experience handling quotes from contractors, reviewing, submitting for approval
