Job summary

Dalata Hotel Group is hiring a Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance across its Irish hotels. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will supervise the maintenance team, coordinate external plumbers and electricians, and ensure all work meets Dalata standards.

You will source suppliers, manage budgets and contracts, develop SOPs for duty managers, monitor utilities, and drive energy‑efficient upgrades while maintaining safety and high service levels in a fast-paced hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Experience managing facilities or similar in a hotel environment.
• Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
• Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and vendors.
• Excellent organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide general maintenance support.
• Oversee plumbers, electricians, and other outside contractors to ensure work is completed to a satisfactory standard and that the workspace is returned to order.
• Source suppliers, negotiate prices, and renegotiate annual contracts for hotel and kitchen equipment, including health and safety items such as fire extinguishers, alarms, and defibrillators.
• Liaise with the accounts department to ensure purchases align with the budget, ensuring that a purchase order is completed and approved for all transactions.
• Establish a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guide for duty managers to follow regarding maintenance or health and safety issues, and provide full training to duty managers on this SOP.
• Reactively modify procedures and address reported incidents to minimize risk and prevent recurrence.
• Monitor utilities and actively seek more energy-efficient solutions.
• Project manage refurbishment or capital expenditure projects in a cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with Dalata and health and safety standards.
• Set a good example for your team regarding work ethic, attitude, personal presentation, punctuality, and attendance.

Your Job:

What You'll Need:

• Previous management experience in a similar hotel environment
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and be standards-driven
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety
• Have great relationship-building skills with the customers and the team
• Flexibility in day-to-day job demands, remain focused when priorities and practices changeExcellent organisational skills
• Electric and plumbing qualifications would be advantageous
