Village Vets in Mahon Point is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to provide high-quality care for animal patients. Candidates should have over 3 years’ experience in small animal practice and a valid VCI registration.

Reports to: Lead Vet
Salary: €44,000 - €55,000
Diagnose, treat, and care for patients to the high standards upheld by Village Vets.
Investigate and manage cases thoroughly within the practice before referral, based on patient needs.
Take full responsibility for patient care, including effective case handover and appropriate after‑hours or referral care.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records.
Prescribe and dispense medications safely and correctly, supporting stock management as needed.
Communicate clearly with clients, providing estimates and treatment options to support informed decision‑making.
Deliver an outstanding client experience across all communication channels.
Promote Pet Health Plans and Pet Insurance to support optimal patient care.
Work collaboratively with the clinic team to ensure compassionate, high‑quality care.
Provide veterinary training and guidance to support best practice across the team.
Support the daily running and presentation of the clinic to Village Vets’ standards.
Ensure all billing is accurate and correctly processed.
Have 3+ years’ experience in small animal practice
VCI Registration
Be confident in consultations, routine surgery, and case management
Demonstrate strong clinical skills with a proactive and motivated approach
