Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Maintenance Operative to support school sites across West Cork, mainly based in Bantry. This evening role covers sports events, security and upkeep, with on-site presence and potential extra shifts across West Cork. Training in Fire Warden and First Aid may be required, and Garda Vetting applies.

The role emphasizes reliability, independence, and practical DIY skills, with a pay of €15.59 per hour and paid travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Good practical/DIY skills and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Willingness to obtain Fire Warden and First Aid certification if needed.
• Experience as a caretaker, handy person, facilities assistant or fire warden is desirable.
• Willing to undergo Garda Vetting as part of safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be the onsite point of contact during evening hours.
• Provide site supervision during sports events and occasional weekend tournaments.
• Act as Fire Warden and provide basic First Aid when required.
• Support safe operation of the building and basic HVAC training.
• Carry out light maintenance and report issues promptly.
• Potential to pick up additional shifts across West Cork sites.
