Job summary

Logiskills Group in Dublin is seeking an experienced European Road Freight Clerk to coordinate road freight shipments to and from mainland Europe, delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least 1 year in freight forwarding, strong English, and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; hybrid working is supported. You will liaise with hauliers and partners, manage bookings, and monitor shipments end-to-end.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year’s experience in a busy freight forwarding environment.
• Experience in freight forwarding, transport planning or dispatch.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and the willingness to learn new systems and software.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also using initiative and working independently.

Responsibilities

• Process customer bookings received by email, telephone and online.
• Plan and coordinate export and import European road freight traffic, including FTL, LTL and groupage shipments.
• Manage incoming correspondence, responding directly or delegating where appropriate.
• Deal with customer queries and proactively communicate shipment updates.
• Liaise with hauliers, overseas partners and agents to coordinate shipments.
• Maintain accurate financial and operational information.
• Keep customers updated on the progress of their orders.
• Manage shipments from initial booking through to completion and file closure.
• Review outturn reports and update files in line with shortages, overlands and other discrepancies.
• Liaise closely with warehouse colleagues and management on a daily basis.
• Undertake other general duties within the department as required.
