Job summary

Elwood Roberts in Dublin 2 is seeking a Systems Engineer on a contract basis (3-9 months) to build and scale large warehouse infrastructure, supporting millions of orders daily.

You will collaborate with network, systems and software engineers to secure the warehouse tech, develop software, automate support processes and document systems.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years Python and Java experience, strong AWS and DevOps experience, UNIX/Linux, networking and system design skills.

Title: Systems Engineer

Location: Dublin 2

Type: Contract | 3-9 months

Rate: €45,000

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to build and scale large warehouse infrastructure. This role drives development for upcoming warehouse centers that process millions of customer orders daily.

The Operations Infrastructure Services team builds and improves core infrastructure components used by tens of thousands of people, hundreds of thousands of IP-enabled devices, a growing fleet of robots, and other user devices in facilities worldwide. You work directly with network development engineers, systems and software engineers to secure the technology supporting the warehouses and Transportation sites. You also develop Software projects, enhance existing software, automate support processes, and document systems.

Job Qualifications

• You have deep hands-on experience developing natively in AWS. You understand network, cloud, and information systems concepts broadly. You are detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure.
• ideally gained 2 years Python and Java development experience
• Agile/Scrum experience
• 2 years+ AWS services and DevOps practices
• 2 years System design and architecture: design patterns, reliability, and scaling for new and existing systems
• Networking, storage systems, operating systems (UNIX/Linux), and hands-on systems engineering
