Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an EU Finance Functional Risk Manager to provide expert risk guidance across finance portfolios, treasury, and investment activities. The role demands advanced insight into laws, regulations, and market trends, with collaboration across lines of defence.

The ideal candidate will lead risk assessments, design effective controls, and communicate with senior stakeholders, supporting ongoing risk programs and strategic initiatives in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Six to ten years of applicable experience.
• Sound understanding of investment management practices, financial instruments, and regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls.
• Knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
• Strong facilitation, project management, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted risk advisor to Finance leaders.
• Identify and address risks before they impact objectives.
• Present Finance updates at appropriate committee meetings.
• Serve as a liaison between the Business Line and second/third lines of defence.
• Evaluate and consult on risks for strategic priorities or major programs.
• Design and enhance control environments for Finance teams.
• Provide assurance of compliance with Risk Management policies.
• Lead RCA sessions for incidents and report operational losses.
• Support risk programs through lifecycle and ad hoc projects.
