Job summary

Breedon Group plc seeks an Estates and Environment Officer for our Ballycoolin/Dublin location. You will work with the Environment Manager and site teams to ensure compliance across planning, environment, and estates, supporting environmental data, land searches, and planning submissions.

You will manage fieldwork, GIS/CAD data, and reporting while maintaining records and coordinating with authorities. Driving licence and 2 years of related experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geology, Surveying or related discipline.
  • 2 years’ experience in Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related discipline.
  • Interest in environmental compliance and planning within quarrying or construction.
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Experience in GPS surveying, GIS/CAD software and spatial data collection.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel, Word and Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
  • A full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor environmental management plans at company locations.
  • Assist with ISO14001 Environmental Management System and ISO50001 Energy Management System.
  • Collate, review and report environmental data.
  • Prepare planning & environmental compliance records and submissions to local authorities.
  • Complete land searches.
  • Assist with preparation of planning applications.
  • Undertake fieldwork including surveying, groundwater level monitoring, and data retrieval from monitoring equipment.
  • Maintain accurate planning and environmental records, databases and schedules.
  • Liaise with site personnel, contractors, consultants and regulatory authorities.
  • Carry out routine environmental inspections and follow up with corrective actions.
  • Support compliance with planning conditions, environmental permits/licenses and other statutory requirements.
  • Assist with investigations of environmental incidents and non-conformances.
  • Undertake other planning and environmental duties as needed.

Overview:

We are currently seeking an Estates and Environment Officer to join our team in Breedon Ireland, Ballycoolin.

As an Estates and Environment Officer you will be working closely with the Environment Manager and wider site management teams to ensure compliance with all required standards. The successful candidate will provide professional support to the land and mineral resources team in all areas of environment, planning and estates.

What we need from you!

Due to the nature of this role, travel within the island of Ireland will be required so the office base can be flexible dependent on the successful candidates home address. Full, clean drivers licence essential.
