Mitie is seeking an ESG & Sustainability Partner to cover a fixed-term maternity period, based on site in Swords, Co. Dublin.

You will lead and maintain Mitie’s ESG direction, coordinating environmental and energy initiatives, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across the business. The role focuses on delivering the established ESG strategy, driving energy efficiency, carbon reduction and sustainability culture, while supporting bids and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in ESG, sustainability, environmental or energy management.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
• Experience with ESG data reporting and KPIs.
• Strong stakeholder and client engagement skills.

Responsibilities

About the role:

The ESG & Sustainability Partner will provide leadership and continuity for Mitie’s ESG, sustainability and energy activities during a period of maternity leave.

Working across Operations, QHSE, Procurement and client contracts, the role will support the delivery of the established ESG strategy, oversee key environmental and energy programmes, coordinate ESG performance and reporting.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the continued delivery of the established ESG and sustainability strategy and priorities.
• Monitor ESG objectives, targets, KPIs and agreed actions.
• Coordinate ESG data, reporting and performance updates for internal and client requirements.

2. Environmental & Energy Management

• Provide oversight and coordination of the Environmental and Energy Management Systems in line with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
• Coordinate relevant audits, objectives, improvement programmes and follow-up actions.
• Support environmental compliance, energy efficiency and continual improvement activities.

3. Client & Contract Sustainability

• Support operational teams and clients in delivering sustainability objectives and contract-level initiatives.
• Provide sustainability expertise for client meetings, reviews, presentations and reporting.
• Identify and progress opportunities relating to energy, carbon reduction, waste, biodiversity, resource efficiency and wider ESG priorities.

4. Engagement & Sustainability Culture

• Continue the People & Planet network and Sustainability Champions programme.
• Coordinate ESG communications, awareness materials, Toolbox Talks and engagement activities.
• Promote employee participation in environmental, social and community initiatives.
• Share successful initiatives and good practice across the business.

5. Stakeholder & Supply Chain Engagement

• Work collaboratively with Operations, QHSE, Procurement, suppliers and contractors to progress sustainability priorities.
• Support sustainable procurement, supplier engagement and relevant social value and community initiatives.
• Represent Mitie externally at relevant sustainability events, forums, client engagements and industry activities.

6. Business & Continuous Improvement

• Provide sustainability expertise to support bids, tenders, client retention and business development activities where required.
• Identify and share opportunities for innovation, decarbonisation, energy efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Capture and communicate successful initiatives, measurable outcomes and best practice across the business.

What we are looking for:

• Relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, environmental or energy management.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 and management systems.
• Experience working with ESG, environmental, sustainability or energy data and reporting.
• Strong stakeholder and client engagement skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in an operational environment.
• Strong written, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide direction and support to a specialist team.
• Curiosity: Proactively seeks to understand emerging ESG trends and how different areas of the business operate, identifying opportunities to embed sustainability into everyday activities.
• Internal or Lead Auditor ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
• Experience in facilities management or another multi-site operational environment.
• Experience with ESG reporting, sustainability KPIs, energy management and decarbonisation initiatives.
• Experience supporting management system audits, tenders or client sustainability programmes. Experience in social programmes or initiatives
