Trinity College Dublin seeks to appoint an EPE and Societal Impact Manager to lead the public engagement and societal impact programme of its new Research Ireland Centre for Quantum Information Science and Technology, Rinn Quantum. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced science communication professional with a strong commitment to participatory and socially engaged practice.

The postholder will design, coordinate, and evaluate the Centre's flagship education and public engagement programmes, working across arts-science collaboration, formal and non-formal education, citizen engagement, and responsible research and innovation. They will build and sustain relationships with civil society organisations, cultural institutions, educators, policymakers, and community partners, ensuring that diverse publics are active participants in shaping the directions of quantum research rather than passive recipients of its outputs.

The EPE and Societal Impact Manager will work closely with the Centre Director, Principal Investigators, EPE Champions, and the Centre’s Education and Public Engagement governance committee. This role requires strategic vision, deep expertise in participatory and co-creative engagement methodologies, and a sophisticated understanding of the societal, ethical, and policy dimensions of emerging science and technology.

Post Status: Specific Purpose

This role is for the specific purpose of leading and supporting the development, growth, and delivery of the Rinn Quantum Research Centre’s education, public engagement, and societal impact activities. This includes developing and implementing programmes and initiatives that enhance public understanding of quantum science and technology, fostering engagement with educators, students, community groups, policymakers, and other stakeholders, and supporting the Centre’s strategic objectives in relation to knowledge exchange, responsible research and innovation, and societal impact.

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative Officer 1-6 (€71,651 - €113,454 per annum) and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.” https://www.tcd.ie/hr/employee-services/pay-scales/
