Job summary

Boylan Consulting is seeking an Environmental Scientist to deliver a diverse portfolio of environmental, planning and waste management projects with technical rigour and practical solutions.

The successful candidate will contribute to environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, planning studies, and project management, supported by strong report-writing capabilities and a proactive consultancy mindset.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 2-3+ years consultancy or industry experience.
• Strong report-writing and written communication skills.
• Sound understanding of environmental regulation and permits.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Waste Collection Permit applications
• Waste Facility Permit applications
• Environmental planning reports including Construction & Environmental Management Plans, Resource & Waste Management Plans, Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Reports
• Preparation of Closure, Restoration, and Aftercare Management Plans and Environmental Liabilities
• Preparation of templates for environmental reports
• Preparation of Article 27 notifications
• Assist clients with compliance items
• Knowledge of the waste industry
• Experience preparing technical reports, regulatory submissions, or project documentation
• Experience in Life-Cycle Assessments and sustainability standards
• Familiarity with ISO quality systems, document control procedures, waste collection permits

About the available position:

• Education: Honours degree in Environmental Science or other related environmental or scientific discipline.
• Experience: 3+ years

Key responsibilities & Duties:

• Waste Collection Permit applications
