Job summary

MKO in Ireland is seeking an Environmental Project Specialist to join the Environmental Team, overseeing day-to-day project delivery and liaising with stakeholders.

You will guide junior colleagues, take ownership from inception to completion, and prepare fee proposals while staying current with environmental issues and legal guidance.

Candidates should have a third-level qualification and 1–2 years of post-graduate experience, with a good grasp of the Irish planning system and EIAR topics.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
• 1–2 years post-graduate experience in similar functions.
• Good understanding of the Irish planning system.
• Project experience at EIAR/Planning/Construction stage.
• Knowledge of EIAR subject areas and interrelationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects run by the Environmental Team day-to-day.
• Guide junior team members and sub-consultants to deliver project requirements.
• Take ownership of projects from inception to completion and provide regular project updates to senior members of the Environmental Team.
• Prepare fee proposals and associated scope of work.
• Have a good knowledge of environmental, climate and sustainability issues.
• Have a good understanding of environmental guidance and law, including the EIA Guidance, the EIA Directive, Habitats Directive.
