Job summary

Complete Laboratory Solutions (CLS) in Galway is seeking an Environmental Chemistry Laboratory Analyst 1 to join our accredited team. You will support wet chemistry, titrations and various testing under the supervision of the Chemistry Lab Supervisor, contributing to ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 compliance.

The role suits a recent environmental science or chemistry graduate with 0–1+ years experience. You should be accurate, detail‑oriented and a strong team player, with familiarity with IT tools

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Environmental Science or Chemistry.
• 0–1+ years’ experience in a lab setting.
• Familiar with INAB Standards and ISO 17025 & 9001.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good team player, organised and accurate with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work as directed by Chemistry Lab Supervisor according to quality policies, ISO 9001 & 17025 and compliance with technical procedures.
• Perform chemical analysis including wet chemistry, titrations and miscellaneous testing.
• Ensure results are recorded in a timely and accurate fashion; maintain LIMS documentation and quality records.
• Stock control within Chemistry laboratory; assist with out of specification investigations.
• Assist with verification of equipment and general housekeeping and waste control.
• Perform any other activities as requested by the Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor or Deputy Quality Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Environmental Chemistry Laboratory Analyst 1 include but are not limited to;

• Working as directed by Chemistry Lab Supervisor according to company Quality policies, ISO 9001 & 17025 and compliance with technical procedures.
• Complete all relevant training and participate in training courses relevant to this position.
• To demonstrate a level of technical knowledge relevant to this position.
• Performing chemical analysis including wet chemistry, titrations and miscellaneous testing.
• Ability to perform repetitive testing accurately.
• Ensuring results are recorded in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Ensuring that any out of specification results are investigated according to laboratory procedures.
• Accurate completion of documentation, LIMS paperwork and Quality documents.
• Stock control within Chemistry laboratory.
• Assisting with out of specification investigations.
• Assisting Quality with verification of equipment
• General housekeeping and waste control within the laboratory while adhering to the laboratory cleaning schedule.
• Performing any other activities as requested by the Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor or Deputy Quality Manager.

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

• The Environmental Chemistry Laboratory Analyst 1 shall have obtained a third level qualification in Environmental science/Chemistry or equivalent.
• 0-1+ years experience.
• Should be familiar with aspects of quality systems regarding environmental/pharmaceutical and auditing practices for relevant internal and external audits.
• Good team player, organised, accurate, having high attention to detail and follow up to tasks.
• Familiar with INAB Standards and ISO 17025 & 9001.
• Proficient in IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
