Job summary

Mercury is seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to lead risk management activities across the business from our Dublin head office, moving to Ballycoolin in Feb 2026. The role requires identifying key strategic and operational risks, developing a robust risk framework and promoting a risk-aware culture while engaging with management at all levels and traveling to on-site locations.

Note: The role is currently advertised for Sandyford and the role will be move to Mercury's new Headquarter in Ballycoolin from 3rd February 2026.

Scope Of The Role

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to lead out on risk management activities across Mercury. The role will require working with all levels of management to identify key strategic and operational risks and opportunities facing the business and ensuring active management of these risks. The scope of the role will cover the end-to-end Mercury business developing and implementing a robust risk framework while promoting a risk aware culture. The role will be based in the Head Office in Dublin and will require travelling to onsite locations across the Mercury business.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role
  • Support management to identify, assess and manage key relevant risks that could impact Mercury’s reputation, strategic and operational objectives and/or financial wellbeing.
  • Design and manage a risk management framework that is responsive to key emerging risks;
  • Develop and implement best in class risk management policies, procedures and ways of working.
  • Champion a strong risk culture by promoting awareness, understanding and ownership of risk across all levels of the organisation and support the Leadership in maturing the approach to risk management.
  • Assist all levels within the organisation understand their risk profiles and integrate risk thinking into their decision making.
  • Ensure an integrated and consistent approach to risk management across the Mercury business.
  • Design and deliver training workshops and communications to build risk literacy and engagement.
  • Create and deliver on a cohesive and efficient monitoring and reporting framework that serves the needs of Management, Leadership and the Board.
  • Support Mercury in maintaining fit for purpose business continuity and crisis management plans.Work with other key second line functions towards a mature integrated assurance model.
Essential Criteria For The Role
  • Proven experience in a commercial environment as an Enterprise Risk Manager or similar role.
  • Proficient in risk management practices and ways of working.
  • Strong analytical skills with solution orientated mindset.
  • Demonstrable negotiating and influencing skills.
  • A commercial mindset and demonstrable ability to work with varying levels of experience in risk management.
  • Good team player.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Qualifications in business, finance, risk management or equivalent.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience working in a rapidly growing commercial environment.
  • Experience in developing risk management practices from the ground up.
  • Relevant industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
