Job summary

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is undergoing a major cloud transformation and seeks an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to lead design, governance and migration strategy for a mass lift-and-shift project moving 1000 apps and 150 servers to AWS.

You will shape how the business builds and runs in the cloud, ensuring security, compliance (GDPR, NIST), and scalability, while running design workshops with engineering teams to resolve complex delivery challenges.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cloud architecture experience, with a focus on AWS and large migrations.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) certification is required; other cloud certs are a bonus.
• Strong knowledge of security and compliance frameworks in regulated environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
• Deep knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, encryption, and secure connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end AWS cloud architectures using best practice frameworks and landing zones.
• Map on-prem dependencies to enable smooth migrations with low risk.
• Ensure alignment with regulatory and security standards (GDPR, NIST, DORA).
• Lead design workshops with engineering teams and stakeholders to tackle delivery challenges.
• Identify risks early and implement remediation plans to keep projects on track.

We’re working with a leading financial services organisation that’s going through a major cloud transformation, and they’re looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to take the lead on design, governance, and migration strategy. Its a large scale lift and shift project in which you will lead the migration of 1000 apps and 150 servers to AWS.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape how the business builds and runs in the cloud, while making sure everything is secure, compliant, and scalable.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing end-to-end AWS cloud architectures using best practice frameworks, landing zones, and secure network setups
• Mapping out existing on-prem systems and dependencies to ensure smooth, low-risk migrations
• Making sure everything aligns with key regulatory and security standards (think NIST, DORA, GDPR)
• Leading design workshops with engineering teams and stakeholders to solve complex delivery challenges
• Identifying risks early and putting solid remediation plans in place to keep projects on track

Key Skills & Experince:

• 7+ years’ experience in cloud architecture, ideally with a strong focus on AWS and large-scale migrations
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) is a must; other cloud certs are a bonus
