Job summary

Archer Recruitment is seeking a Lead Security Architect to shape the organisation's security strategy and standards across large-scale transformations in cloud, infrastructure, applications and enterprise platforms.

The role remains hands-on from an architecture perspective, guiding security decisions across cloud, identity, network, data and application domains and collaborating with senior stakeholders and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Security Architect within large enterprise environments.
• Strong AWS cloud security expertise and experience across cloud, identity, network and data domains.
• Hands-on architecture design and review experience, including security patterns and reference architectures.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST and ISO27001 is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture across enterprise-wide transformation programmes.
• Define and maintain security standards, patterns, reference architectures and design principles.
• Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments and security design reviews.
• Drive Secure-by-Design practices across cloud and application delivery teams.
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure and architecture teams to embed security requirements from inception through delivery.

This is an opportunity to join a globally recognised organisation undertaking a large-scale security transformation across cloud, infrastructure, applications and enterprise platforms.

As Lead Security Architect, you will play a key role in shaping the organisation's security strategy, defining architecture standards, and ensuring security is embedded across major technology initiatives.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, and architecture functions to drive secure-by-design principles and influence security decisions at enterprise scale. This role remains highly hands‑on from an architecture perspective and would suit someone who enjoys solving complex security challenges across cloud, identity, network, data and application domains.

The Role

• Lead security architecture across enterprise-wide transformation programmes
• Define and maintain security standards, patterns, reference architectures and design principles
• Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments and security design reviews
• Drive Secure-by-Design practices across cloud and application delivery teams
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure and architecture teams to ensure security requirements are embedded from inception through delivery
• Provide architectural guidance across cloud, identity, network, data and platform security domains
• Support security tooling strategy, vendor evaluations and technology roadmaps
• Influence senior stakeholders and provide expert security guidance across the organisation

What you Bring

• Proven experience as a Security Architect within large enterprise environments
• Strong cloud security expertise, particularly in AWS
• AWSExperience designing and reviewing security architecture across cloud, identity, network and data domains
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust, threat modelling and Secure-by-Design principles
• Experience producing security designs, reference architectures and architecture documentation (HLDs/LLDs)
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST and ISO27001
