Freudenberg Medical Ireland Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Technician in Spiddal, Co. Galway. The role focuses on diagnosing manufacturing equipment issues, identifying root causes and implementing practical, permanent solutions to improve performance.

You will own equipment metrics such as OEE, yield and downtime, support changeovers using SMED principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Strong hands-on maintenance, problem-solving and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 6 qualification or equivalent technical discipline is required.
• Trade experience such as Toolmaker, Fitter, Electrician or Mechanic is desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsabilités

• Diagnose technical issues on manufacturing equipment and implement permanent countermeasures.
• Own metrics like OEE, yield and downtime, escalate critical issues with recovery plans.
• Support changeovers and identify opportunities to reduce changeover times (SMED).
• Perform preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Manage spare parts inventory and assist with tooling design for processes.
• Collaborate with production teams to prioritise daily and weekly activity.
• Train Production Operators on equipment use and product specs.
• Promote health and safety with safe systems of work and hazard reporting.
• Support energy and environmental efficiency initiatives.
