Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Ireland is seeking a Lead Technician to provide technical and function-specific knowledge to support Operations and Engineering activities.

The role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment validation, and collaboration with Quality to drive continuous improvements in a sterile manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on, leadership-oriented position requiring a recognised trade or higher qualification and at least six years of related experience.

Qualifications

• A recognised trade qualification or relevant third-level qualification; plus manufacturing, engineering, or medical device industry experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving and GDP practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to minimize downtime and ensure validation.
• Lead equipment validation projects and investigations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on complex equipment.
• Collaborate with Quality on corrective actions and EWOs/ENCRs.
• Update documentation in systems (ECRs, SOPs, drawings).
• Coach and guide technicians.
