Job summary

Next Generation Recruitment is seeking a Calibration Planner to coordinate calibration and gas detection activities across our GMP-regulated sites. The role requires strong planning and scheduling skills, familiarity with SAP or similar CMMS, and experience in regulated manufacturing environments.

The successful candidate will develop calibration schedules, manage work orders, and lead daily calibration meetings while ensuring audit readiness and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in planning, scheduling, maintenance, calibration, or engineering support.
• Experience working within a GMP environment.
• Experience with SAP or an equivalent CMMS/EAM system.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and calibration practices.
• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, or other regulated manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the planning and scheduling of calibration and gas detection activities.
• Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual calibration schedules.
• Coordinate calibration activities across site functions.
• Create, plan, release, and manage calibration work orders using SAP or other CMMS/EAM systems.
• Manage the calibration backlog and drive timely work-order closure.
• Lead daily calibration meetings and maintain calibration KPI dashboards.
• Maintain documentation supporting GMP compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory inspections.
• Identify and implement improvements to planning, scheduling, and work-management processes.

Build Your Expertise in a Specialist Calibration & Engineering Role

Imagine working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, where effective calibration planning helps keep critical equipment and site-wide programmes operating reliably and compliantly.

This is a specialist opportunity for an experienced Calibration Planner, Maintenance Planner, Engineering Planner, Maintenance Scheduler, Instrumentation Specialist, or Engineering Specialist to coordinate calibration and gas detection activities across manufacturing, laboratories, utilities, warehouse, and support functions.

You'll work within a GMP-regulated environment , combining technical calibration knowledge with structured planning, work management, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement.

What you'll achieve (and why it matters):

You'll take responsibility for the effective coordination and management of calibration activities:

Your edge (desired, not required):

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in planning, scheduling, maintenance, calibration, or engineering support
• Experience working within a GMP environment
• Experience with SAP or an equivalent CMMS/EAM system
• Knowledge of instrumentation and calibration practices
• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device , or other regulated manufacturing experience
• Experience with ProCal or an equivalent calibration management system
• Knowledge of GMP, Data Integrity, and ALCOA+ principles
• Experience supporting regulatory inspections or inspection readiness
• Experience with contractor/vendor coordination and work-order management
• Degree or Level 7 qualification in Engineering, Instrumentation, Maintenance Management, or a related discipline
• Strong planning, organisational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with moderate direction
