Engineering Manager – Power Electronics
The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of power electronics engineers developing next-generation power technologies for breakthrough medical devices, therapies, and treatment modalities. This is a technical leadership role for someone who combines hands-on power electronics credibility with proven people management experience, and who wants to shape the architecture, culture, and talent pipeline of a growing engineering function.

You will act as both a technical authority and a people leader, driving innovation from concept through to commercially successful product, while building and developing a high-performing team capable of sustaining that innovation long term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team in the development of next-generation power technologies that enable breakthrough medical devices, therapies, and treatment modalities.
  • Drive the identification, evaluation, and maturation of emerging technologies, transforming innovative concepts into commercially successful products.
  • Foster a culture of technical curiosity, experimentation, and continuous innovation, encouraging the team to challenge conventional approaches and push technological boundaries.
  • Act as a visible technical leader within the organisation, influencing architectural decisions, platform strategies, and future product investments.
  • Identify and cultivate future technical and people leaders, strengthening the organisation's engineering capability and succession pipeline.
  • Drive a high-performance culture that balances innovation, accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence.
  • Collaborate with customers to solve complex technical challenges and develop solutions that create competitive advantage.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Honours Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in an electronics development environment.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading/managing engineering projects and engineering teams.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of developing individuals and teams.
  • Proven experience developing and executing to project budgets.
  • Proven track record of innovation in technology and intellectual property.
  • The opportunity to lead technology that directly shapes patient outcomes, within a business investing in next-generation power electronics innovation.

This role would suit a power electronics leader with a strong technical foundation in high-voltage DC/DC, AC/DC, GaN/SiC, or related power conversion technologies, who is ready to step into or continue growing a management remit with real influence over technical direction and team development.
