Job summary

Advanced Energy Management Limited in Little Island, Cork, Ireland is seeking an Engineering Manager, Future Technologies to lead a team of engineers developing power solutions for medical devices from concept to commercialization.

Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in electronics development.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading engineering projects and teams.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to manage project budgets.
  • Proven innovation in technology and intellectual property.

POSITION SUMMARY

As Engineering Manager, Future Technologies, you will guide and grow a talented team of engineers developing innovative power solutions that make life-changing therapies possible. From concept through commercialization, you will drive the creation of new-to-world technologies that help medical device leaders bring safer, more effective, and more connected treatments to patients worldwide. This position sits at the forefront of innovation, leading the development of disruptive technologies that will power tomorrow's medical devices. You will work on ambitious, first-of-their-kind designs, transforming emerging concepts into products that enable groundbreaking advances in surgery, diagnostics, and therapeutic care.

The Engineering Manager, Future Technologies will lead the development of strategic technology platforms that enable emerging medical applications and breakthrough treatments. Working closely with customers, product management, and advanced development teams, you will build and lead an organization focused on solving complex technical challenges and delivering innovations that improve patient outcomes globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the team in the development of next-generation power technologies that enable breakthrough medical devices, therapies, and treatment modalities.
  • Drive the identification, evaluation, and maturation of emerging technologies, transforming innovative concepts into commercially successful products.
  • Foster a culture of technical curiosity, experimentation, and continuous innovation, encouraging the team to challenge conventional approaches and push technological boundaries.
  • Act as a visible technical leader within the organization, influencing architectural decisions, platform strategies, and future product investments.
  • Identify and cultivate future technical and people leaders, strengthening the organization's engineering capability and succession pipeline.
  • Drive a high-performance culture that balances innovation, accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence.
  • Collaborate with customers to solve complex technical challenges and develop solutions that create competitive advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
  • Honours Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8 years' minimum experience in an electronics development environment.
  • Minimum 5 years' previous experience in leading/managing engineering projects and engineering teams.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing to project budgets.
  • Proven innovation in technology and intellectual property.
WORK LOCATION
  • Onsite at our Little Island, Cork, Ireland facility.
  • The role will also include domestic and international travel of up to 20%.
