Job summary

Paddle seeks an Engineering Manager for the Application Excellence (AppEx) team to improve the internal developer experience and establish golden paths across a high-velocity platform. You’ll listen, diagnose, and lead a roadmap with stakeholders, coaching engineers while contributing technically when needed.

The role emphasizes ownership, cross-team coordination with SRE and Security, and building scalable tooling in Go/PHP/Laravel stack on AWS. Remote-friendly with global impact.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with extensive experience in large-scale cloud systems.
• Proven management experience with 2+ direct reports across multiple roles.
• Experience building products for internal stakeholders and developers.
• Strong ability to gather feedback, form buy-in, and drive a clear roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AppEx team delivering initiatives from concept to rollout.
• Own developer productivity and internal developer experience outcomes.
• Synthesize feedback across the organization and build buy-in before execution.
• Mentor engineers, grow the team, and maintain technical credibility.
• Oversee shared libraries and improve tooling for the platform group.
• Drive reliability and scalability of a high-traffic event-driven system.
