Job summary

Mastercard Ireland is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a team delivering Authentication Decisioning capabilities within the Decision Management Platform. You will balance people leadership, technical execution and operational excellence while collaborating with Product, Architecture, SRE and Programme teams.

The role focuses on scalable, secure backend systems, real-time risk decisions, and cloud-native architectures.

Qualifications

Proven experience leading software engineering teams delivering large-scale distributed systems.
Strong backend software development background and system design.
Experience with cloud-native or service-oriented architectures.
Proven ability to manage stakeholders and influence across teams.

Excellent communication and leadership in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop a high-performing software engineering team.
Drive delivery of strategic roadmap initiatives, balancing feature development and debt reduction.
Partner with architects to define scalable, secure solutions.
Ensure reliability, performance, availability and incident management.
Champion CI/CD, automated testing, observability and secure SDLC.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align priorities and execution.
