Job summary

Paddle is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Application Excellence (AppEx) team within the Platform group. You’ll lead a high‑impact team, focusing on developer productivity and internal tooling that speeds up how Paddle engineers build and ship features.

The role emphasizes listening, synthesis, and stakeholder alignment to drive a clear, actionable roadmap. You’ll report to the Director of Engineering and influence across SRE, Security, and senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a senior engineer on complex, cloud-based systems.
• Management experience with 2+ direct reports at two or more places.
• Proven track record building products for internal stakeholders and developers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AppEx team from concept to rollout with cross‑team collaboration.
• Own developer productivity and internal developer experience outcomes.
• Synthesize feedback and build a clear, buy‑in roadmap for sustainable impact.
• Coordinate with SRE, Security, Principal Engineers, and leadership to influence direction.
• Coach engineers for personal and professional growth; enable high‑impact performance.
• Stay hands‑on with code reviews while guiding strategic direction and unblock teams.
• Oversee Platform group’s technical strategy and shared libraries/tools.
