Job summary

Bentley Systems in Ireland is seeking a Manager, Software Development to lead and grow multiple software teams within the Facilities Engineering group, delivering platform capabilities for plant, building and structural engineering.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will develop talent, coach engineers, and partner with Technical Leads and Product Managers while piloting AI-assisted workflows and developer tooling to boost throughput.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Experience designing team-wide AI-agent workflows and guardrails.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop teams with accountability and high performance.
• Set expectations, provide feedback, and support career growth.
• Align teams to business priorities and outcomes for successful delivery.
• Partner with Technical Leads, Product Managers, and peers to deliver results.
• Define and execute AI-assisted engineering strategy across the department.
• Champion Bentley's vision, values, and strategic priorities.
• Support hiring, workforce planning, retention, and team health.
• Foster collaboration and remove barriers to delivery.
• Conduct employee performance reviews.
• Participate in recruitment and dismissal processes.
• Minimal travel.
